The published objective is to finish Chapter 2 without alerting anyone. Players additionally report checking for Surprise on target eliminations and avoiding red alert indicators. Those extra checks are community advice, not a confirmed universal fix.
Community guide + conflicting player reports. References and scope below. Objective and reported checks
The The Halloween Game Wiki — Chapter 2 challenges ↗ identifies the final challenge as a no-alert completion. In Steam players — Challenges Not Working ↗, players recommend a Normal-difficulty attempt with Surprise notifications and no red alert icons. A report of success does not prove that difficulty is a mandatory requirement.
A controlled retry
Use one attempt to test stealth rather than simultaneously chasing every optional execution.

Keep the other objectives separate
The chapter reference lists Tanya’s cash-register execution, Rachel’s environmental execution, Slab’s timed encounter, Eric’s shelf execution and Rachel’s three friends as other objectives. Those are not interchangeable with the no-alert objective. The Halloween Game Wiki — Chapter 2 challenges ↗
If you are looking for “temple stab Eric,” confirm its on-screen objective before substituting it for the shelf challenge. The sources reviewed here do not establish that these are the same requirement.
When a clean attempt still fails
Save the version, platform, selected difficulty and result screen. Change one variable on the next attempt so the result is useful. The tracking guide explains how to distinguish an objective mismatch from a reported counter problem.
