How to read these numbers
The frame-rate figures in the GPU row are the targets the listing attaches to each tier — 1080p at 30 fps for the minimum card and 4K at 30 fps for the recommended one — not benchmarks we measured. The listings show one storage figure for both columns, and Steam adds the note “SSD/NVME Required”, so treat a hard drive as unsupported rather than tested. This site has not benchmarked any hardware.
What Patch 1.1.0 changed for PC
IllFonic — Patch Notes 1.1.0 ↗ lists PC-side items: shaders now precompile at startup, DLSS-G support was added, DLSS, FSR and XeSS were improved, CPU and GPU performance was improved across maps, several crashes on specific AMD hardware were fixed, and a “Graphic Card Not Supported” message now appears for hardware below the minimum specification. If the game crashes after an update, see crashes and known bugs.
Anti-cheat and Steam Deck
The Halloween: The Game — Steam store ↗ listing states that the game uses kernel-level anti-cheat — Easy Anti-Cheat — which it says requires manual removal after the game is uninstalled, and that you must accept a third-party end-user license agreement. Kernel-level means the component runs with deep system access; whether that matters to you is a personal decision, and this site makes no claim about its behavior beyond what the listing states. The same listing shows Steam Deck compatibility as unsupported, and full controller support including Xbox controllers and DualShock or DualSense over USB.
Console install size
The Xbox store (US) — Halloween: The Game ↗ lists a maximum install size of about 23.5 GB for Xbox Series X|S. The PlayStation listing we reviewed does not state a size, so we do not give one for PS5; check the store before downloading. Platform details: platforms and editions, PS5 guide.
If your PC is below the minimum
Cloud play is the alternative to upgrading hardware; availability and requirements are on the GeForce NOW page. This site does not recommend running the game on unsupported hardware.
PC fixes since 1.1.0
Steam — Patch Notes 1.1.1 (official announcement) ↗ (October 16) fixed crashes when using DLSS and FSR frame generation. IllFonic — Patch Notes 1.2.1 ↗ (October 28) fixed DLSS-G frame-rate drops in certain scenarios and an issue where players on PC using a controller could not navigate to the graphics performance settings. These are official fix notes, not benchmarks. If you are still deciding where to buy the PC version, see official stores and buying a Steam key safely.
