How to emote on PC and controller

Reported PC and controller emote controls, including the shared Mark Item binding and custom-key checks.

THE SHORT ANSWER

GamerBlurb reports holding Z on PC, then left-clicking while keeping Z held to select an emote. On controller, it reports holding the action assigned to Mark Item. Check custom bindings before assuming a specific physical button.

Keyboard and mouse

According to GamerBlurb — How to Emote ↗, hold Z, keep it held, then use the left mouse button and directional selection. A tap may perform the shared action without opening the same menu.

Controller and remapped controls

The cited guide names the Mark Item action rather than one universal controller button. Open your control settings and identify that action in the current layout. Hold the assigned input instead of copying a PC key.

If the wheel does not appear

Check three things separately: the active input device, the assigned action, and whether you held or tapped it. If you report a problem, include those observations and your platform. This page does not claim that changing unrelated graphics or network settings will fix an input issue.
