IllFonic confirms Prestige at the maximum level of a progression category. Its overview identifies Profile, Killer, Civilian and Weapon progression, but does not specify a universal numerical cap or complete reset rules.

The IllFonic — Progression & Customization Overview ↗ separates overall Profile XP, Michael’s Killer progression, individual Civilian progression and weapon progression. Prestige becomes available at a category’s maximum. Perk Points fund card rolls and temporary upgrades; they are not another name for a character level.
Before confirming Prestige
Read the confirmation screen in your current version. Record the affected category, listed reward and anything the screen says will reset. Do not use a guessed cap or another character’s level as proof that your selected track is eligible.
This is a decision checklist, not a claim about undisclosed reset mechanics. If the screen is ambiguous, keeping a screenshot before confirming is more useful than trying to reconstruct the previous state afterwards.
If Prestige is unavailable
Replies to IllFonic Community — Patch 1.0.1 announcement ↗ include complaints about Prestige. Those reports establish that players were asking about it, not a confirmed cause or universal fix. Capture the selected track, level and exact error, then follow the progress-reporting checklist.
