Queued for Login: what the hotfix addressed

Official context for the login queue issue, offline-play fix and a sensible checklist before retrying.

THE SHORT ANSWER

The September 5 hotfix specifically addressed offline play being affected by login queueing. It did not promise that all online queues would disappear. An online queue and the previously reported offline-play issue are different cases.

Read the fix narrowly

IllFonic — Early Access Hotfix 1 ↗ identifies the offline-play interaction with the queueing system. That wording should not be expanded into a promise that restarting always bypasses an online queue.

Before another attempt

Record whether you selected online or offline play, your build number, and the exact message. Check for an official update and any service announcement. If no estimated time is shown, this website cannot calculate your place in the queue.

Our troubleshooting recommendation is to avoid repeatedly changing settings without recording the result. A restart can be a simple test, but it is not a sourced guarantee that your next login will work.

If you reach the menu but cannot join friends

That is a different stage of the connection flow. Continue with party connection checks and describe the new error rather than treating every connection failure as a login queue.
