How Many Players in Halloween: The Game? 1v4 Format, Player Count and Steam Charts

Halloween: The Game is 1v4 — one Michael against up to four Civilians. Official player milestones (1,000,000+ by September 12, 2026) and how to read Steam Charts and SteamDB without mistaking PC numbers for the whole player base.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Multiplayer is a 1v4 format: one Michael Myers against up to four civilians. IllFonic reported over 500,000 players around the September 8 launch, then over 1,000,000 by September 12 — a figure reconfirmed on September 17. Live concurrent counts change and are not maintained on this page; Steam’s own charts cover PC only.

Match format and party size

Official materials describe multiplayer as 1v4 (one Shape versus up to four civilians), so a full match has five players. IllFonic — Launch and Early Access ↗ The number actively playing can change mid-match: community-documented guides describe eliminated players returning as police reinforcement (see respawn as police). The sources reviewed do not publish a maximum pre-made party size, so we do not state one.

Player count milestones

Steam / IllFonic announcements stated more than 500,000 players joined around the September 8, 2026 launch. Steam — Over 500k players announcement ↗ IllFonic — Over 1 Million Players ↗ reported the game passed 1,000,000 players by September 12, and IllFonic’s September 17 roadmap post reconfirms it is “well over 1,000,000 players.” IllFonic — What’s Coming Next ↗ These are historical announcement figures, not a live concurrent counter.

Steam Charts, SteamDB and how to read live numbers

This page does not embed a live counter. For PC, Steam publishes its own Steam — Most played games ↗ list. Third-party trackers such as SteamDB and SteamCharts read Steam’s public data and chart concurrent players over time; we do not link to or vouch for them, but you should know what they measure:

  • Steam only. Steam numbers cover the Steam version only — they exclude PS5, Xbox and Epic Games Store (PC) players, so they understate the whole player base. IllFonic’s 1,000,000+ figure covers all platforms.
  • Concurrent is not total. “Players right now” and “everyone who has bought the game” are different measures.
  • Context matters. Peaks usually follow launches, big patches and new content. Useful dates to compare are September 8 (launch), October 6 (Patch 1.1.0) and October 27 (Tower Farm Terror).

What this page does not claim

This site does not embed live Steam Charts data and has no access to PS5 or Xbox concurrency. For platform availability see platforms, PS5 and crossplay.
